SOUL FIRE

ElderSoul

ElderSoul is a call to mature adults who are walking a life-long soulful process. For those who long to know and take their place in Earth community in the company of seekers who together desire a true and deepening elderhood. We offer a communal journey of re-membering and weaving together all the multi-layered aspects of our psychospiritual, embodied lives - our healing and our wholeness. A retreat event whether on-line or in-person becomes an experiential portal offering a creative integration - a personal and collective experience - naming, nurturing, and risking deeper ways of living in inter-connection with nature as authentic Earth adults in right relationship with all beings.

The vision and shared-purpose of ElderSoul as a community-in-pilgrimage:

  • To ‘become elder’ is not about age. Together, we welcome thriving multi-generational relationships, honoring our journeys in all our stages of life as being elders-in-training; practicing and preparing to give back into the world through our unique gifts and calling.

  • Each gathering is undergirded by the intention of our unique belonging in community with the land, our home bioregion and watershed.

  • Each person’s awareness is that they are a part of the whole and their growth into a deeper psychospiritual and soulful awakening is recognized and supported by the greater community as a ‘pilgrimage of soul.’

  • We create circles of trust together, with each person honoring a core set of practices and principles from the Courage & Renewal approach in our gatherings.

  • We honor Nature as our Guide, our Teacher as Mystery, Spirit as our Source, and all the elemental forms of matter as our flow in belonging in community.

WORDS FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS

The best part was being with 21 people dedicated to similar things as I am. You both created a great container—it brought out the best.
— R
I loved the time by myself swinging in my hammock by the bend in the creek and encountering a moose there.
— M

The most satisfying aspect of the weekend, for me, was the time alone on the land. It is what I love – to be out in nature with time for reflection and writing – and it aligns with my personal
spiritual practices. The facilitation was an excellent blend of large group, small group, and alone time. I especially appreciated the long stretches of time out on the land.
— K
I am exploring my ignorance of nature and looking to enhance my openness to what needs I can address with others for our planet. I also dream of being able to communicate more clearly the deep feelings I have for experience in the natural world, especially to my grandchildren to help encourage their curiosity and care for others and our incredible home planet and universe.

The solo times brought me into deep contact with nature’s soul mirrors …the subject of Death, brought some powerful moments. It was good to hear people voice their fears and concerns around end-of-life issues. This aspect of elderhood could be a whole council in itself!
— J
The retreat encouraged me to go into this next chapter of my life with a vision. The vision is not fully formulated yet, but I am working on it and that is part of the path.
— E
Maybe my favorite moments were the drumming and dancing towards the end.
